Saving the La Jolla Community Garden.
I stumbled upon this garden one day, while on a walk through the neighborhood. I ended up talking to one of the neighbors who informed me, that La Jolla High had plans to tear it down, and build parking spaces and batting cages.
After attending a LJHS board meeting on the subject - I took it upon myself to start a face book page to Save the La Jolla Community Garden. I am happy to report that to date, over 1000 members of the community have gotten involved to help save this community garden.
And I have not bought veggies from the grocery store since.
The legalities of the issue seem to be on our side and hopefully soon we can call the garden a permanent fixture for the La Jolla community.
